Shyamsundar Child And Women Development Society 


Shyamsundar Child and Women Development Society (SCWDS) is a professionally managed committed NGO active in community capacity building and issue based networking. The primary focus of SCWDS is on the problems of the poor in their struggle to obtain a life of justice and dignity. Environment stabilization, food security and empowerment of the community for self-governance are the most important components of its mission. Gender justice, natural resource management, and livelihood security are our primary areas of concern.

As a non govt. organization, "Shyamsundar Child and Women Development Society" was founded in 2005 with a view to bring change about the overall condition of rural poor particularly neglected women. All initiatives of SCWDS focus on ensuring equal opportunities for resource poor households through improved access to human development opportunities. As a strategy, SCWDS concentrates on building local capacity, ensuring information and technology availability and enhancing linkages to development infrastructure like credit institutions, market, health and education service providers etc.

Shyamsundar Child and Women Development Society is engaged in promotion of income generation activities for the rural women and youth for their socio economic empowerment. The society deducted to promote Entrepreneurship Development Programmes. Skill Development Program vocational Training and many other need based and area specific training programmes deducted to self employment in the target areas. The organization implement various need based and area specific program for poverty eradication and self employment.

Vision of the organization:
To promote the sustainable interventions in the rural areas for the empowerment of marginalized community through training, capacity building, awareness and motivation leading to self sustainable and continuity.

ORGANIZATION'S OBJECTIVITIES:
  • Take action to calamities in the best achievable way according to the organization's capacity.
  • Improving financial system of poor, especially women, through income generation activism through provision of finances and financial services
  • Motivate for improved and facilitated living through basic health education services and enhanced physical infrastructure
  • Brining constructive change through advocacy and relations with government, and civil society
  • To raise the voice against exploitation, injustice and corruption if found against any individual, class, community in the society.
  • To educate the people for adopting the good norms of a good citizen and to work for spreading the ideas of nationality among the people.
  • To work for uplifting status of the women in the society.
  • To help and generate training programme for self employment of women and educated unemployed people and to work for adult education.
  • To create Training/education centre and health centre.
  • To create awareness among the people regarding AIDS etc.
  • To educate people against taking drugs and Alcohol.
  • To work for sustainable agricultural development and promote organic farming.
  • To take up relief and rehabilitation for the victims of Natural Calamities like floods.


FOCUS:
All our efforts are specially focused on the development of rural: women, children and youth who are deprived and considered as down trodden segments, by promoting literacy & education, providing health & hygiene facilities, conducting capacity development trainings, extending micro credits awareness and creating seminars, workshops & meetings.

What we do
We do something good for the downtrodden communities. SCWDS works for the elevation of under privileged Children, Women and Youth using holistic approach that addresses the physical,educational, environmental and economic welfare of the community. We are working in many projects. The following are some:

PROJECTS

  • Conduct Vocational skill trainings for sustainable livelihoods to women, youth and adolescents.
  • Capacity building of women on their rights, entitlements, legal protections & provisions from Government and Non-Government agencies.
  • Organize awareness campaigns on climate change, conservation of bio-diversity and protection of environment including tree plantation.
  • Conduct Seminars, Workshops, Research study and evaluation study on various issues of socio-economic educational policies & programs.
  • Conduct child care and protection programs like child rights, education support to poor students, etc.
  • Self Help Group formation
    To empower and development rural women, we generate SHG.
  • Food Processing and Family Meal Management Training Camp
    This project also aims at offering integrated training to SHG's so that they may undertake food processing as an income generating activity. We offers training programme and awareness on food processing activity like pickle making, fruit jam making and ready mix products. We also offer Family Meal Management training camp for rural woman.
  • GREEN PROJECT
    • Institute of Solar Technology (Solar Technology Training Institute) has been established by "Shyamsundar Child and Women Development Society" on 14/08/2012, meeting regulation no-52, project controlled memo no- SET/IST/1/12 and GP/GOV/1/12 as a "GREEN PROJECT" unit of this organization for reducing global warming through renewable energy technologies.
    • GREEN PROJECT SUPPORT is a self income generating project of SCWDS that aim is developing a broad based support of different sections of the society for using Non Conventional Sources of Energy. Project controlled memo no- GPS/REI/1/12 and GP/GOV/1/12 dated 14/08/12.It aims at motivating the people to conserve energy. 

      GPS offers project consulting services for development of grid connected solar photovoltaic power projects in India under Roof Top PV and Small Solar Generation Programme (RPSSGP) under Ministry of New Renewable Energy (MNRE) and Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission (JNNSM) schemes.
    • "Sustainable Energy Network" (SEN)
      SCWDS Green Project - supports via "Sustainable Energy Network" (SEN), which compiles overviews of energy policy in countries and share the clean energy agenda.

    Self Employment Training Institute organise by Shyamsundar Child and Women Development Society

    SET aimed to provide basic technical and entrepreneurial skill to the rural unemployed youth in the age group of 18-35 years enable them take up income generating activities. 

    The Self Employment Program at the SET Institute provides full time classroom training, in which you receive all of the information necessary to write a business plan as well as courses to assist you in operating your business. SET which allows you the freedom and flexibility to conduct market research, write your business plan and start your business on a timely basis.

THE INSTITUTE OF ADVANCED STUDIES was formed with the noble aim of promoting education for the youth of our country.

  • almost every individual entertains a fond desire for having some form of education whether with in or outside the established system. The Institute of Advance Studies has placed great emphasis on introducing and innovating activities and programs of teaching in various fields of education.
  • its aim include developing entrepreneurship and molding young men and women to assume leadership for the betterment of society.

TEACHING METHODOLOGY

  • Direct personal contact between faculty and students.
  • Small tutorial batches for individual attention to students for problem solving.
  • Stress laid on Seminars, Presentation & Practical Work so as to improve technical, practical and communication skills of students.
  • Emphasis laid on teamwork. Students are given group projects and Assignments to develop team skills.


We are contenting Computer Training classes for poor boys & girls in the monthly fees of Rs.200/- and thus helping the poor to get computer education which is the dream of them. The following computer courses are taught in our organization.

Customer Service and Work Culture (CSWC) truly prepare young people for entry level roles in the organised service sector.

With over 220 hours of inputs, it is designed to develop attitudes & values, develop hard and soft skills and finally place young people into entry level careers.
